Travel Saver adds Itineraries so you’ll know what to see and do.
We are excited to announce that we have just added an itineraries page to Travel Saver. We get a number of people asking what to see and do, where to visit, and what are realistic travel times in a campervan or rental car in New Zealand.
We thought, why not put together some detailed information of our most popular routes in New Zealand and an explanation of all the sights and places along the way. We see the itineraries page as a work in progress as we will constantly add to it with new and updated information.
Currently we have three of our most popular itineraries which you can read more about at the following.
North Island Northern Encounter: Experience the sites and sounds of New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland before heading to the winterless north. You will visit historic towns such as Dargaville, Kaitaia, Paihia, Whangarei. Then head south to Hamilton and through to the tourist mecca of Rotorua, then relax in the beautiful port city of Tauranga. Then pass through a few more kiwi best kept secrets before heading back to Auckland.
South Island Northern Encounter: A great package for those with limited time, who want a taste of what the South Island of New Zealand is all about. Highlights include whale watching in Kaikoura, Malbouragh’s wine region, sunny Nelson and the Abel Tasman National Park, a visit to the West Coast and then back through to Christchurch via the alpine village of Hanmer Springs.
South Island Souther Encounter: This package is for those who are on a shortish trip and want to take in the blockbusting sights that New Zealand’s South Island has to offer. You will visit, Christchurch, Lake Tekapo, Wanaka, Queenstown, Te Anu, Milfound Sound, Franz Joseph and Fox Glaciers, Greymouth, before heading back to Christchurch via Akaroa.
These itineraries keep in mind that the best deals are to be had when you collect and or return your vehicle in either Auckland or Christchurch.
